I started taking an interest in art from a very young age. My mom is an amazing artist and has always nurtured my love of art. She spent countless hours teaching me how to draw, create, and think outside the box. She encouraged me to grow my talents so I was blessed to take all sorts of art classes growing up, from drawing to painting to pottery to interior design. She saw something in me and I am grateful that she helped me see it in myself.
Drawing was always my go-to until my Grandpa Morgan and my dad introduced me to woodworking when I was in middle school and high school. My Grandpa was constantly building/renovating the family cabin and always made sure I got to play a part. He would constantly give me scrap pieces of wood so I could build bird houses. You can still find some of those bird houses all over in the trees at the cabin where he hung them for me. After a while, my Grandpa started letting me work along side him in building/renovating the cabin and my love of woodworking took flight.
During high school, my dad saw my desire to learn more woodworking skills and he gave me some of his grandfather's old tools, taught me how to weld, and set up a work shop for me in our garage. Even though he was not a skilled woodworker, he would spent endless hours with me learning how to use all of the tools and creating any project that I could think of. To this day I know I can go to him with any question or concern and he will stand along side me as we find out the answer together. I will always cherish the time we spent learning together.
I am an Art Major with an Emphasis in Sculpture at Brigham Young University - Idaho and will graduate in April 2023. I am grateful for my unbelievably kind, caring, and talented professors that have pushed me to become more than I ever thought I could. Now it is my time to use what I have learned to do what I love! #creatingthelifeilove
