WEEK 4 - WEDDING WATERCOLOR

Updated: Feb 6, 2023

Day 1

I got commissioned by a lady that follows me on instagram to do another painting for her daughter and son-in-law. This was such a beautiful couple and photo. I spent a while drawing all of the detail with pencil and wanted to work a lot to make the background super intriguing. I practiced several different tactics and enjoyed using a wet on wet technique and then dabbing it with a napkin to make it looked textured. Then I started with the under glazing and working on the skin tone.

Day 2

Today I worked on the hair and clothes. I wanted to try a different style for the hair and really like the was that it turned out on the bride but not as much on the groom. I am excited to work on improving that style because I like the look of it. My favorite part that I did today was the greenery on the groom. I think that it turned out really well and that the flowers looked pretty realistic. Overall, I liked the way the brides face and teeth turned out because teeth are very difficult to paint for me sometimes.
