WEEK 7 - BOONE BOY

Day 1

I guess that I have turned into a dog artist recently haha. This week I got commisioned to do another digital drawing of a dog that had passed away. For this drawing I want to send some real time learning how to do fur. It will probably take me a lot longer than my other drawings but I bet it will be worth it and I am excited to push myself. I first started with the outline of Boone and made sure everything looked the way I wanted it to before starting of his fur. I started on his legs and worked my way up. I didn't know how I wanted to go about it at first but decided that I would make it look pretty loose on his body and then get more detailed on the face. The hardest part of this drawing so far is the fact that I have only a blurry photo to work with.

Day 2

This drawing has taken me so long! I am glad with how it turned out but I have a lot of time into it. I made the mouth and face hyper detailed and I am loving it. I think that my favorite part of the whole drawing is the mouth and chin. I spend so much time trying to get those small details captured the way that I wanted. I would adjust the shade of the color ever so slightly to get the dimension that I was looking for and think that all the small tweaks were worth it. I definitely learned that detail takes time and if you start it you have to finish it so that it looks consistent.
